French President Emmanuel Macron said on Tuesday it is a "legitimate question" to consider suspending the European Union's association agreement if Israel continues this policy he says runs counter to its history, particularly in Lebanon.

He made the remarks during a press conference with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam at the Elysee Palace.

Lebanon on Tuesday said at least 2,454 people have been killed and 7,658 wounded in six weeks of conflict began since March 2.
