Anthony LaMolinara, a jury member for the Forward Future unit at the 16th Beijing International Film Festival, sat down with CGTN's Zhang Meng to share his perspective on filmmaking. When asked about China's visual effects industry, LaMolinara noted that there has been a dramatic shift. "China is way ahead. They have gigantic studios for virtual production, much bigger than the United States," he said. As for which kinds of Chinese stories could travel globally, he hopes for more than just action or kung fu. "I would like to see more films about Chinese people, their happiness, sadness, difficulties, fortune, and misfortune, just like everyone else. There are so many other Chinese stories to tell."
