Zhusha Ancient Town in southwest China's Guizhou, has upgraded its industrial heritage for a brand-new experience. Former mercury mines and vintage streets have been transformed into immersive short drama theaters. With its new "Travel with Short Dramas" program, the once-static site has become an interactive attraction, boosting local cultural tourism.
The old street fully revives mining community life of the period from 1950s to the 1980s. The scenic area provides tailored immersive experiences for families, young people and former miners. It offers one-stop services including costumes, makeup and filming, turning sightseers into active participants.
The new format drew 48,000 visitors in its first three months. Interactive programs have raised tourism spending and turned the quiet mining area into a popular hot spot.
