PLA Navy at 77: Inside China's advanced naval combat trio

April 23 marks the 77th anniversary of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). To celebrate, a naval open day event was held at a military port in Zhanjiang, southern China's Guangdong Province.

In just five years, the Chinese navy ship (CNS) Nanning sailed 320,000 kilometers, the equivalent of circling the Earth about eight times. From evacuations in Sudan to maritime security in the Gulf of Aden, it serves as a rapid-response force on global deployments.

The formation also includes the CNS Kunlun Mountains and CNS Ulungur Lake. Together, the three frontline vessels showcase a comprehensive combat system that integrates strike power, amphibious reach, and far-sea logistical support.
