Editor's note: China is not one innovation story but many – emerging from local areas across the nation. In this series, we bring you those stories as pieces of a larger mosaic that, when put together, reveal the full picture of a country on the move.

As "waste siege" remains a global challenge, what answer has Jiujiang, in east China's Jiangxi Province, provided?

Li Xue (Pacheco Rojas Paola Lizeth), a student majoring in Engineering in Sustainable Development from Mexico, recently visited a Chinese waste-to-energy plant to trace the lifecycle of refuse and seek ultimate solutions for green development.

Moving from skepticism to conviction and from observation to identification, she used her professional perspective to decode how a "garden-style factory" employs technology to protect lucid waters and lush mountains. More than a simple visit, this journey represents a cross-border dialogue, showing how Chinese strategies offer new possibilities for global green development.
