China launched a batch of satellites on Friday to test its satellite internet technology. The launch took place from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province aboard a Long March-2D carrier rocket, which successfully placed the test satellites into its planned orbit.

The satellites will be used for technical tests and verification, including direct satellite-to-mobile broadband connections and the integration of space-ground networks.

The launch marked the 639th flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series.
