China's response to recent US remarks on Taiwan-related travel issues

China's position is clear: there is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is an inalienable part of its territory, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Thursday. The remarks came in response to comments from a spokesperson for the US Department of State, who expressed concern over a relevant country's temporary cancellation of flight permission for Taiwan leader Lai Ching-te. The US side stated the move interferes with the safety and dignity of Taiwan officials' routine travel, and that international airspace management should not be used as a political tool. Guo said comments that frame legitimate actions as "interference" distort the facts and blur the line between right and wrong, adding that Taiwan-related matters are purely China's internal affairs and brook no external interference.
