The Fujian Coast Guard on Friday conducted routine law-enforcement patrols in the waters near Kinmen, said a spokesperson for a local bureau of the China Coast Guard.
Zhu Anqing, spokesperson for the China Coast Guard Donghai Branch, said since the beginning of April, vessel task forces of the Fujian Coast Guard have enhanced law-enforcement patrols near Kinmen to strengthen control over the waters.
"It is an effective step to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese fishermen, including those from the Taiwan region, and their safety and property, and to ensure orderly navigation and operation in the waters around Xiamen and Kinmen," said Zhu.
