Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Friday held a phone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, stressing the importance of sustained dialogue and engagement to address outstanding issues, in order to advance regional peace and stability at the earliest.
Pakistan's Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the two sides exchanged views on the prevailing regional situation, including the ceasefire and efforts being pursued by Islamabad in the context of US-Iran engagement.
Araghchi expressed his appreciation for Pakistan's consistent and constructive role in facilitating diplomatic efforts, according to the statement.
Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact on the evolving situation.
