Sichuan captured its third WCBA title, after defeating Shanxi 74–65 on the road to win the best-of-five Finals 3-2 on Saturday.

With Elizabeth Cambage sidelined due to injury and Arike Ogunbowale suspended after accumulating four technical fouls during the season, Sichuan played without its top overseas duo.

Shanxi's Shakira Austin led the home team's efforts with 18 points and 15 rebounds, while Kalani Brown added 9 points and 9 rebounds, helping the hosts take a 40–35 lead at halftime.

Natasha Howard stepped up for shorthanded Sichuan, however, finishing with 22 points and 12 rebounds. The visitors mounted a determined comeback behind Wang Siyu and Li Yuan, who both finished with 15 points, to close out the series in style.

Sichuan clinched its third title in four years, while Shanxi fell short in its bid for a fourth championship. Li, who was selected as Finals MVP, said she greatly valued the championship triumph.
