In Kunyu City, located on the southern edge of the Taklimakan Desert in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, a remarkable transformation is turning barren desert into fertile farmland. To overcome the region's dry climate and sandy soil, high-efficiency sprinkler systems move across fields, spraying a precise mix of water and fertilizer to ensure crop growth while saving water. This year, Kunyu City has planted nearly 1,500 hectares of such circular farmland with wheat and sunflowers, achieving a positive cycle of desert control and agricultural prosperity, reaching dual goals of ecological restoration and economic development.
