US President Donald Trump was evacuated by Secret Service agents from an annual White House correspondents' dinner on Saturday night after a security incident involving a loud, unidentified noise, according to media reports. No injuries were immediately reported.

Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance and other top cabinet leaders were all taken out of the hotel ballroom where the dinner was being held after an apparent shooting nearby.

One suspect was in custody and alive, Reuters reported, citing a source familiar with the situation.

Footage from the live stream showed attendees ducking behind tables to take shelter. The Secret Service and other authorities swarmed the banquet hall, according to the Associated Press.

A law enforcement official earlier confirmed there was a shooter, but no further details were immediately available, AP reported.

Organizers announced that the event would resume momentarily, but did not offer more details.

This would mark Trump's first time attending the White House correspondents' dinner as president.
