China delivers largest domestically built LNG carrier

China's first independently designed and built 180,000-cubic-meter liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier Celsius Georgetown was delivered on April 26. It is the largest such vessel completed by Chinese shipyards to date. Built by China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) at its Haimen base for Danish shipowner Celsius Shipping, the vessel features a dual-fuel low-speed propulsion system. It is designed to transport liquefied natural gas at minus 163 degrees Celsius. After delivery, it departed for Singapore.
