Migration season is in full swing in Xilingol League, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The area has recorded clear footage of smews for the first time, a species known for high standards for clean water and fresh air. White-naped cranes, common cranes and other migratory birds have also arrived in large numbers. Local police are patrolling key wetland areas by foot, vehicle and drone to keep the birds safe from disturbance.
