A promotional event was held in Jakarta, capital of Indonesia, on Tuesday for the English edition of the fifth volume of "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China." More than 200 participants from various sectors in China and Indonesia attended the event.
According to the participants, the fifth volume reflects the latest developments of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and is an authoritative work for the international community to understand contemporary China.
Currently, China has embarked on a new journey of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), and Indonesia is also steadily moving towards its Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision. The two countries working together to promote strategic alignment and deepen development cooperation will not only bring tangible benefits to the two peoples, but will also inject strong momentum into empowering the Global South and improving the global governance system, they said.
Speaking at the event, Ahmad Muzani, chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly in Indonesia, said the book launch event has provided an important platform for deepening exchanges of ideas between China and Indonesia.
He expressed hope that the book will enable more Indonesian government officials, scholars and young people to deepen their understanding of China's development path and governance philosophy.
Indonesian Transmigration Minister Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanegara said he witnessed China's efforts to eliminate poverty through a people-centered development philosophy during a visit to the country.
China's major concepts and innovative practices in poverty alleviation governance, rural development and regional coordinated development have provided Indonesia with a systematic solution worthy of reference to promote the orderly resettlement of its population and accelerate the development and construction of its eastern region, Muhammad said.
The participating experts and scholars also exchanged views on topics such as development opportunities during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, common modernization and poverty reduction experiences.
