Adylbek Kasymaliev, chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, met with Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun on Monday.
During the meeting, Kasymaliev noted that Kyrgyz-Chinese relations are currently developing rapidly and steadily, with the two sides maintaining a high level of political mutual trust.
The Kyrgyz side always views China as a key strategic partner, he said, adding that the country is ready to continue deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership with China and strengthening cooperation on bilateral and multilateral platforms, particularly within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Kasymaliev said that the current international situation is marked by instability, with new security challenges and threats continuously emerging. He emphasized that further promotion of bilateral practical cooperation in the military sphere is becoming even more relevant for a joint response to terrorism, extremism, separatism, transnational crime and other security threats.
Dong said that China and Kyrgyzstan are kind neighbors, good friends and reliable partners. Bilateral relations have made great strides and comprehensive cooperation has reached a new level under the strategic guidance of the two countries' heads of state, he added.
Over the past years, relations between the two militaries have maintained vigorous development, and exchanges and cooperation in various fields have achieved fruitful results, Dong said.
China stands ready to work with Kyrgyzstan to continuously deepen their traditional friendship, improve the quality and effectiveness of cooperation, and strengthen interaction on multilateral platforms, thereby jointly safeguarding the peaceful environment for the development and revitalization of both countries and infusing more positive energy into the turbulent world, Dong added.
