Beijing has rolled out a new all-in-one digital service platform, "GO BEIJING" or "Enter Beijing," designed to remove common hassles for overseas travelers – from language barriers and payment headaches to navigating local services.
The platform packs 39 practical services covering the entire visitor journey, including dining, accommodation, transport, sightseeing, shopping, entertainment and government affairs. Users can hail a ride, book tickets, reserve hotels or purchase an eSIM card, all with a quick one-click registration. Supporting 16 languages, the interface is immediately usable for foreign guests without language friction.
A headline feature is the country's first "travel wallet," which eliminates the need to link a Chinese bank card. Cross-border remittances arrive in the wallet and can be spent directly with zero transaction fees. The wallet is currently open to users from 40 countries and regions. Tax refunds are also streamlined: at designated tax-free stores, shoppers can simply tap their phone against a refund card and receive the money in as fast as two minutes, enjoying a true "buy-and-refund-instantly" experience.
Beyond the app, Beijing has upgraded its international web portal to support 10 languages, adding Italian to the existing lineup. A "12345 Online" service allows expats to leave questions in their mother tongue and get prompt responses. The English version of the Jingtong app has also been enhanced with over 30 services, including hospital appointment booking and an English map. Users only need to upload a photo of their passport for automatic information recognition, and setting the phone language to English switches the app's entire interface seamlessly.
To support travelers the moment they land, service points in the international arrival halls of both Beijing Capital International Airport and Daxing International Airport now offer over 20 services – covering communication, transport, finance and cultural tourism – all in one place.
These coordinated online and offline upgrades reflect Beijing's continuous push to build a truly frictionless, welcoming environment for global visitors.
