China has issued more than 7,000 national standards for the service sector, covering areas such as technology, energy conservation and elderly care, officials said on Tuesday.

At a press conference held by the State Council Information Office, officials said China's service sector has continued to expand steadily while improving quality and efficiency, with its standards system also becoming more comprehensive.

Current standards cover producer services including technology services, information services, financial investment, energy conservation and environmental protection, as well as consumer services such as elderly care, housekeeping, culture and tourism and sports and fitness.

In addition, around 27,000 group standards have been introduced.

China's State Administration for Market Regulation, together with relevant departments, has also rolled out guidelines and special standards programs in areas including modern logistics, low-altitude services, artificial intelligence, winter sports and the platform economy.

Since the start of this year, the number of newly approved national service sector standards plans has risen 190% year on year, reflecting strong demand from the sector for standardization.
