In Qinzhou City, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, there is a 240-meter-long wildlife passage bridge over the Pinglu Canal.
The country's first animal passage bridge to be built across a canal, the structure is meant to ease passage for "pedestrians" such as leopard cats, spotted linsang and red-bellied tree squirrels.
Workers will also plant various native plants and install shelters and water sources to ensure the animals can cross with confidence.
The canal is scheduled to open in 2026.
