Manus-Meta $2 billion deal blocked: The red line that money couldn't cross

On April 27, China formally blocked the proposed $2 billion acquisition of Chinese-founded AI startup Manus by US tech giant Meta, citing national security risks tied to data and technology. It was the first time China had halted a foreign acquisition in the AI sector.
