Nestled in the remote western reaches of the southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, Ngari Prefecture is a land of myth and majesty often known as the "Secret Realm of Western Xizang."

At its heart stands Mount Kangrinboqe, the main peak of the Gangdise Mountains. Reaching an altitude of 6,656 meters, its foothills become a sanctuary for global trekkers and pilgrims from April through October every year. As travelers traverse the winding river valleys, they are often accompanied by the quiet presence of blue sheep and marmots roaming freely across the high-altitude terrain.

In the film Paths of the Soul, a group of Tibetan villagers embark on a prostrating pilgrimage to Mount Kangrinboqe – a grueling odyssey of faith where each traveler ultimately finds their own moment of truth.
