With a history of more than 500 years, Cuandixia Village in Beijing's Mentougou District is home to a remarkable collection of courtyard residences dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. Built along the mountainside, these traditional homes feature intricate brick, stone and wood carvings, reflecting refined craftsmanship and thoughtful design in harmony with the surrounding landscape.
Rich in historical and cultural heritage, the village has served as a filming location for films such as Cell Phone and Lover's Grief over the Yellow River, and has been designated as a film and television shooting base for the Asian Art Film Festival.
