The world's largest 16-megawatt floating offshore wind turbine "Three Gorges Pilot" is installed. It has three parts: a 16mw turbine, a semi-submersible floating platform and a new mooring system. Its rotor diameter is 252 meters, swept area equal to seven standard football fields. It can generate about 44.65 million kWh annually, powering 24,000 households.
