An explosion occurred at a fireworks plant in Guandu Township, Liuyang, a county-level city of Changsha, capital of central China's Hunan Province, at around 4:43 pm on Monday, according to the emergency management bureau of Liuyang.

The number of casualties is being verified, while an investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
