Chinese kung fu has a long history as an important part of China's intangible cultural heritage. Meishan martial art, a unique traditional school from Hunan Province, is famous for its powerful, swift and practical combat styles. Hu Jianfeng, known online as the "Hunan Swordsman," has gained wide attention for his graceful sword technique. As a representative inheritor of Meishan martial art, he constantly hones his skills and shares the charm and cultural depth of Chinese martial arts with the world.

CGTN talked with Hu Jianfeng, who shared his journey from practicing basic skills tirelessly in childhood to falling in love with kung fu and embodying the spirit of chivalry. Through his personal stories and martial arts performance, we showcase the beauty and cultural essence of Chinese martial arts and explore the spirit of chivalry in Chinese culture.

When talking about the true meaning of "xia" (chivalry), Hu emphasized that it is not about one's martial arts skills. Instead, he believes the core of chivalry lies in using whatever strength one has to help others, which also reflects his understanding and practice of inheriting Meishan martial art.
