Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday condemned the latest missile and drone strikes targeting the United Arab Emirates (UAE), urging efforts to uphold the fragile ceasefire between the US and Iran to allow diplomacy to address the ongoing tensions.

The UAE said it intercepted 12 ballistic missiles, three cruise missiles and four drones launched from Iran on Monday. The attack caused minor injuries to three people and sparked a fire at an oil refinery in the eastern emirate of Fujairah.

Iran has neither denied nor confirmed responsibility. State media IRIB cited a military source as saying Tehran had no plans to target the UAE.

"Pakistan strongly condemns the missile and drone attacks on civilian infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates last night," Sharif said in a post on X.
