A lake along the journey: Yamdrok in film

How many kinds of blue can you spot in Yamdrok Lake?

Yamdrok Lake in Shannan City, southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, stretches across the plateau in long, winding curves. Its color constantly shifts with the light, showing shades from pale turquoise and jade to deep blue as clouds move and the angle of the sun shifts. From above, the lake cuts through the mountains in bright, uneven lines, standing out against the darker land.

In the film Enjoy Your Journey, characters Fu Zhen and Mao Mingji pass by the lake as they travel across the plateau to reach Mount Qomolangma. It is here that their friendship begins to take shape, marked by a photograph Mao takes of Fu.
