Coinciding with spring breaks in several regions in China, this year's five-day May Day holiday saw a significant jump in long-distance travel and family trips, with hotel booking demand for popular long-distance travel destinations increasing by over 40% over the same period last year, according to Chinese online travel provider Tongcheng Travel.
