The Chinese Embassy in the United Kingdom has strongly condemned the British government's decision to impose sanctions on two Chinese entities over allegations of supplying drone components and other military-related goods to Russia, calling the measures "unilateral" and without basis in international law.

The embassy spokesperson said the sanctions undermine the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies, and China has lodged stern representations with the UK government.

China has maintained an objective and impartial stance on the Ukraine crisis, remained committed to promoting peace talks and enforced strict controls over the export of dual-use items in line with laws and regulations, the spokesperson noted.

Normal exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Russian enterprises should not be disrupted, and "we urge the UK to immediately rectify its wrongdoing and revoke the sanctions against the relevant Chinese entities," the spokesperson said, warning that China would take strong measures to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of its companies.
