Official data shows cross-border travel in China surged during the May Day holiday.

More than 11.3 million inbound and outbound trips were recorded nationwide, up 3.5% year on year. The number of foreign visitors rose by nearly 13%, boosted by China's visa-free policies.

Border inspection authorities optimized services by deploying additional staff and opening more inspection lanes, ensuring efficient and secure travel at ports across the country.
