China is willing to work with Uzbekistan to promote the in-depth development of mutually beneficial cooperation and continuously enrich the connotation of the China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future to better benefit the two peoples, Chinese Vice Premier Liu Guozhong said on Thursday.

Liu, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met with Uzbekistan's Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, and the two co-chaired the eighth meeting of the China-Uzbekistan Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee, held in Beijing.

Liu said China is willing to work with Uzbekistan in accordance with the grand blueprint drawn by the two heads of state, give full play to the guiding and coordinating role of the committee, firmly support each other on issues involving each other's core interests and deepen high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. He also noted the two sides should strengthen exchanges in fields such as the economy and trade, energy, transportation, agriculture, science and technology, people-to-people and cultural exchanges, security, and poverty reduction.

Aripov said Uzbekistan has always regarded China as a long-term and reliable strategic partner, and is willing to maintain close high-level exchanges with China and deepen political mutual trust. Practical cooperation could be expanded in various fields to continuously elevate Uzbekistan-China relations to a new level, he said.

Aripov reaffirmed Uzbekistan's adherence to the one-China principle, adding that Uzbekistan stands ready to jointly implement the China-proposed four global initiatives and promote the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.
