Located in China's Shaanxi Province, Famen Temple received its present name in the first year of the Wude era of the Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907) and has retained it ever since. Revered for enshrining the true finger bone relic of Shakyamuni Buddha, the temple became a sacred site for countless Buddhist devotees.
