Located in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, the Suzhou Museum was designed by I. M. Pei and opened in 2006. The building combines white walls, grey stone, and geometric roofs, blending traditional Jiangnan garden design principles with modern structure and lighting. Reflecting pools create perfectly still water that acts as a mirror, with reflective surfaces extending the space visually. Trees and rocks are arranged as sequential elements in a walkable landscape, forming a continuous spatial sequence, while hexagonal windows reinterpret the traditional concept of "framed views," capturing delicate, composed scenes within the space.
