Future Makers: The rise of China's customized travel photographers

China's domestic tourism recorded 1.9 billion trips in the first quarter of 2026, according to data from a sample survey of domestic travelers conducted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Behind the figures lies a notable trend: younger Chinese travelers are moving away from standardized vacation photos and seeking more personalized visual narratives.

This has given rise to a new occupation, the "customized travel photographer," officially recognized by China's Ministry of Human Resources in 2025. In this episode of Future Makers, CGTN reporter Zheng Songwu introduces this emerging profession and the creative minds behind it.
