US President Donald Trump on Thursday met with visiting Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva at the White House in the wake of their disputes over tariffs.
"We discussed many topics, including Trade and, specifically, Tariffs," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
"The meeting went very well," he said, adding that representatives of the two leaders are scheduled to get together to discuss "certain key elements."
Trump said that additional meetings will be scheduled over the coming months as necessary.
Trump imposed a 50 percent tariff on Brazil last July. The measure was later invalidated by the US Supreme Court in February.
