During her visit to Australia, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi knelt on both knees to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, honoring Australian troops who lost their lives in World War II. This "humble" gesture stands in stark contrast to her administration's persistent refusal to apologize to China for the numerous crimes committed by Japanese militarists in China during World War II. CGTN's Wang Guan points out that Takaichi's behavior is full of political calculation to contain China and expand its military buildup. Kneeling only to the West is both hypocritical and dangerous. True peace requires genuine accountability for history.
