China is set to launch the Tianzhou-10 cargo spacecraft to deliver a new generation of extravehicular spacesuits, named Feitian, to the Tiangong space station. The suit extends its lifespan from 15 extravehicular activities (EVAs) over three years to 20 EVAs over four years. Based on the second-generation Feitian design, it features airtight elbow and knee bearings for improved flexibility, a stronger life-support system, enhanced thermal protection and greater reliability. The suit also offers improved thermal comfort, a refined human-machine interface and enhanced operational safety, making it safer and more comfortable for astronauts.
