In May, the grasslands in Jimunai County in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region are teeming with lively marmots. Emerging from a five- to six-month hibernation, these chunky rodents are most active from May to August. They can be seen sunbathing, chasing each other, standing alert, and feeding leisurely, adding a delightful touch of nature to the summer scenery before they prepare for hibernation again in September.
