The Shanghai Sharks cruised past the Shandong Kylins 96-68 in Game 2 of the CBA playoff quarterfinals in Jinan, east China's Shandong Province, on Saturday, completing a 2-0 series sweep to advance to the semifinals.
Shanghai seized control early in the game with a dominant 29-12 opening quarter. Kenneth Lofton Jr. led the visitors charge with 20 points, nine rebounds and five assists, while Brandon Goodwin added 13 points and seven assists.
Shandong struggled to generate offense throughout the night. Chen Linxun provided the lone bright spot for the hosts, knocking down five 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 21 points, but the Kylins never seriously threatened a comeback.
Defense proved decisive for the Sharks, who held Shandong to just 35.1% shooting from the field and recorded a 7-0 advantage in blocks. Keyontae Johnson endured a difficult outing, missing 14 of his 19 shots and committing three turnovers, while Sacha Killeya-Jones turned the ball over five times.
Shanghai will face either the Beijing Ducks or Guangdong Southern Tigers in the semifinals.

In the other matchup of the night, Guangdong edged Beijing 102-99 in overtime to level their best-of-three series at 1-1.
Trevelin Queen delivered a spectacular performance for the Southern Tigers with 39 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, including eight made three-pointers, as Guangdong rallied from a double-digit first-half deficit.
Queen nearly won the game in regulation time after drawing a foul with the score tied at 91-91, but missed the second free throw that could have sealed victory.
Beijing then squandered a golden opportunity soon afterwards. Eugene German missed a jumper, but after Zhou Qi grabbed the offensive rebound, Queen stripped the ball away to force overtime.
With less than one minute remaining in OT, Queen buried a jumper to tie the game 99-99 before Zhou committed another costly turnover.
Although Zhang Haojia missed an initial three-point attempt, Guangdong secured a crucial offensive rebound to extend the possession. Zhang then knocked down his second try from beyond the arc, delivering the decisive basket and keeping the Southern Tigers alive in the series.
