A total of five suspects, including two Chinese and three American nationals, were apprehended in a coordinated China-US law enforcement operation in early April, the Chinese Ministry of Public Security (MPS) said on Monday.

The operation, led by the MPS's Narcotics Control Bureau and the US Drug Enforcement Administration, was carried out simultaneously in Liaoning and Guangdong provinces in China, as well as in Florida and Nevada in the United States. A quantity of drugs, including protonitazene and bromazolam, was seized.

The ministry said a transnational drug trafficking channel linking China and the US had been dismantled. It said the operation marked another major achievement in deepening practical cooperation between Chinese and US drug enforcement authorities, demonstrating the firm resolve of both countries to jointly combat serious drug-related crimes.
