At the invitation of Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office of Brunei Darussalam, Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, touched down in Beijing on Monday for a five-day official visit to China. This visit comes as the two countries celebrate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.
China and Brunei are friendly neighbors and strategic partners. Since establishing diplomatic relations in 1991, the two countries have enjoyed strong political trust and fruitful cooperation in trade, energy, infrastructure, and people-to-people exchanges.
China is one of Brunei's largest trading partners, and major projects, such as the Hengyi petrochemical complex, have become symbols of mutually beneficial cooperation. In 2023, the two countries agreed to build a China-Brunei community with a shared future, opening a new chapter in bilateral relations.
