Brazil's visa-free policy for Chinese ordinary passport holders took effect on May 11, 2026, allowing stays of up to 30 days. On the first day, Shanghai Pudong Airport handled the first batch of outbound travelers to Brazil. Meanwhile, China's visa-free policy for Brazil is about to turn one year old. Data shows that as of May 11 this year, about 85,000 Brazilian nationals have arrived in China through Shanghai ports for purposes including tourism, business, and cultural exchanges since May 31, 2025. That is a 39.7% year-on-year rise and a definite shift from "far‑away distance" to "ready to go."
