The ISO recently released five international natural gas standards led by China. These guidelines cover shale gas development and sour gas reservoir technologies. The standards help reduce costs, improve efficiency and ensure safety globally. This can raise the shale gas well success rate to over 85% and cut single well costs by 10% or more. The standards also solve sour gas development and monitoring problems effectively. So far, China has led 14 such standards adopted by over 20 countries.
