ROK president meets with Chinese vice premier in Seoul

President of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Lee Jae Myung on Wednesday met Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng at Cheong Wa Dae in Seoul.

Vice Premier He conveyed greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping to President Lee during their meeting, stressing China's readiness to work with the ROK to further advance bilateral ties.

He said that since the end of last year, President Xi and President Lee had exchanged visits within a short period of time, opening a new chapter of improvement and development in China-ROK relations.

He noted that China is willing to work with the ROK side to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, strengthen communication, enhance mutual trust, deepen exchanges and cooperation, and safeguard and develop the China-ROK strategic cooperative partnership.

Lee asked He to convey his greetings to President Xi and said that his two meetings with Xi had been very productive.

Lee said that exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in economic, people-to-people and other fields have remained active.

Lee expressed hope that both sides would further strengthen exchanges and cooperation, enhance mutual understanding and closeness between the two peoples, promote better development of bilateral relations for the benefit of both peoples, and contribute to regional peace and stability.

On Tuesday, He also met with ROK Deputy Prime Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance and Economy Koo Yun-cheol at the latter's request.

The two sides exchanged in-depth views on strengthening China-ROK economic and trade cooperation.
