An exhibition exploring the intersection of human creativity and artificial intelligence by one of the earliest Chinese pioneers of contemporary curatorial practice opened this May in Venice. Metamorphosis: Beyond the Real. In Search of Victoria Lu – When Humans and AI Think Together, the Story Begins, presents a major research-based retrospective of the work of the artist and curator Victoria Lu (Lu Rongzhi), spanning more than five decades of trans-media practice. Far from a departure from her earlier work, the exhibition frames her current engagement with AI as the natural continuation of a lifelong exploration of authorship, cultural memory, and curatorial experimentation. The exhibition runs until November 22, 2026.
