"Technologically speaking, China is a lot more capable than it was in 2017," says CSIS scholar Scott Kennedy, pointing to China's rapid advances in electric vehicles, solar power and high-speed rail. As US President Donald Trump returns to China for his first visit of his second term, nearly nine years later, Kennedy adds that businesses on both sides are looking for predictability, solutions and continued cooperation.
