As the latest China-US leaders' meeting sends positive signals for strengthening people-to-people exchanges, direct dialogue is becoming an important bridge for mutual understanding.

During an exclusive interview with CGTN's Li Jingjing, top US influencer Hasan Piker noted that ordinary people share the same aspirations – a roof over their heads, a hot meal, decent jobs and upward mobility – and that the similarities and closeness between Chinese and Americans far outweigh their differences. He encouraged direct communication without media filtering, saying that "dialogue is one of the best ways to build understanding."

Piker also pointed out that while the US is the wealthiest nation on Earth, many ordinary working people see little benefit from that wealth. He argued that Americans need to "wake up" to these realities, adding that China's rise is "extremely impressive" and that its development experience offers lessons the United States should seriously reflect on.
