Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday held a welcoming banquet at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing for US President Donald Trump, who is on a state visit to China.

In remarks at the welcoming banquet, Trump highlighted the historic ties between the two countries and the shared values of the Chinese and American people. Trump said China and the United States have the opportunity to build a future of greater prosperity, cooperation, peace and happiness together.
