We Talk: Brazilians say stable China-US ties would benefit global community

Global Stringer

South America;Brazil

US President Donald Trump paid a state visit to China from May 13 to 15. During the visit, the two sides reached common understandings on the new vision of building a constructive China-US relationship of strategic stability and engaged in candid, in-depth, constructive and strategic communication on major issues concerning world peace and development, exploring a correct way for the two major countries to get along and reach a series of consensuses.

A CGTN stringer in Brazil interviewed residents to learn their views on the new positioning and future development of China-US ties. Nathan Bastos Xavier, a physics researcher, says that China and the US – the major powers of this century – should not only address their differences but also work to help resolve global conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy. College student Giovanna Marques de Barros Andrade believes a stable China-US relationship would be beneficial for the world.
