Anthony from Peru crossed the ocean to Beijing in 2009. Starting with a single "Ni Hao," he has since married, started a family, bought a home and built a life here. For him, a breakfast of coffee and steamed buns reflects the natural blending of Chinese and Peruvian cultures.

Zhao Zheng, from south China’s Guangdong Province, came to Peru in 2018 through the Confucius Institute program. From teaching Chinese to singing Chinese songs, he has found ways to connect emotionally beyond language. He leads his students in singing "I Love You, China" while also embracing Peruvian culture with open arms.

Both have found a sense of belonging and a purpose in a foreign land. Anthony marvels at the unique colors and flavors of Beijing, while Zhao hopes to continue contributing to the global promotion of the Chinese language. Their stories show how language and culture can cross vast oceans and connect hearts.
